Mahindra All India Talent Scholarship (MAITS)

Pursuing a vocational course in a Government Polytechnic is no longer a distant dream for students from underprivileged backgrounds. Since the inception of MAITS, deserving students receive a scholarship of Rs. 10,000 each year for the 3 year course to earn their diploma. This year, out of 6,600 applications received we awarded 550 scholarships to students from
11 states in India.

Roopini comes from a poor economic background where her mother works as a domestic help to support the family. She had to take a loan she could not afford, to fund her daughter’s education. Roopini had consistently scored well in her studies and wanted to pursue a Diploma in Electronics & Communication (E/C). Her good academic scores helped her receive the scholarship when she was just 15 years old. Today, she is employed as Tech Support for Tayana Software Solutions Ltd., earning a salary of Rs. 12,000 per month. Her determination hasn’t wavered and she still works hard today to give her family the comforts and better quality of life that they deserve.
